Orlando Flores shot a 37 again. Same score as last week, same best-ball-of-the-night, different opponent. This time it was Todd Sewell on the receiving end — Orlando took him 7.5 to 2.5 and added another 7.5 points to the ledger. He's now at 94.0, which is a comfortable lead, but with 30 points still available to every full-timer, this isn't over. Jeff Kardas jumped to second after a clean 7–3 win over Mike Keefe. Todd Sewell swept both CTP contests for the first time all season, ending the three-week hole-8 drought. Jason Maxwell was the odd man out this week and played Orlando's card, earning 3.5 points. A big field (15 players), a lot of movement, and three weeks left to decide this thing.
Orlando shoots 37 for the second straight week. Two consecutive weeks at 37 gross — best round of the night both times. Against Todd Sewell on Tuesday, he won the net battle, took the low-net bonus, and walked away with 7.5 points. He's now at 94.0 — a 4-point swing from last week's 86.5 after the Brian Shields loss. Fourteen months into this league and Orlando's peak performance is arriving exactly when it needs to.
Jeff Kardas jumps to 2nd place. Kardas won 7–3 over Mike Keefe — clean, decisive, no drama. He moved to 90.0 points, passing Pehr and Sewell to sit alone in 2nd, 4 behind Orlando. After the rough Wk 16 loss to Thomas Jaramillo, Kardas bounced back exactly right. Seven more rounds available. He's in it.
Todd Sewell sweeps the CTP double. Sewell won CTP on hole 2 (his fourth of the season) and hole 8 — the first player to win CTP2 since Jeff Hunt took it on June 30. Wks 14, 15, and 16 all had no winner on hole 8. Sewell ended that. He finished with 2.5 points on the night (lost the live match to Orlando 7.5–2.5) but walked away with the hardware. He's at 87.0, 7 back.
Joe Olson runs Jimmie Rains 7–3. Olson shot 48 gross and netted 34 on a 14 handicap, while Rains shot 53 and netted 38 on a 15. The net gap was decisive. Olson picks up 7.0 points and climbs to 55.0. Rains drops a fifth straight second-half loss and stays at 77.0 — his overall lead over Jaramillo is now down to 0.5 points.
Kevin Nicholson takes Paul Rael to the wire. Kevin shot 46 gross, netted 39 on a 7 handicap. Rael shot 46 gross as well, netted 38 on an 8. One-stroke net edge, closest match of the night. Rael takes it 5.5–4.5 and stays at 85.5 — 5th place, 8.5 behind Orlando. Kevin gets 4.5 and moves to 12.0 for the season.
Brit Harvey beats Tom Pehr 5.5–4.5. Harvey shot 47 gross (netted 36 on an 11), Pehr shot 41 (netted 37 on a 4). Harvey wins the net edge by 1 and edges the hole count 5.5–4.5. Pehr stays at 87.5 — 3rd place — but Harvey climbs to 64.5, back in contention for the second-half leaderboard. Bit of a surprise result: Pehr has been in excellent form.
Jeff Hunt returns and beats Thomas Jaramillo. Hunt (10 rounds total this season) shot 40 gross and netted 38 on a 2 handicap. Jaramillo shot 50 gross and netted 38 as well on a 12. Tied on net, Hunt takes enough holes to win 5.5–4.5. He moves to 54.5 overall. Jaramillo stays at 77.5 and remains in 6th.
